WHITEHALL Boiserie Whitehall bookcase

Whitehall
THE COLLECTION WHITEHALL TAKES INSPIRATION FROM THE MASTERPIECES OF INIGO JONES AT THE BEGINNING OF THE 17TH CENTURY. HE IS THE FIRST SIGNIFICANT BRITISH ARCHITECT OF THE BAROQUE PERIOD, AND THE FIRST TO EMPLOY VI-TRUVIAN RULES OF PROPORTION AND SYMMETRY IN HIS BUILDINGS AND INTERIORS. PRIOR TO THE FIRE THAT DESTROYED A LARGE PART IN 1622, WHITEHALL WAS THE LARGEST PALACE IN EUROPE, WITH OVER 1500 ROOMS WITH MANY EXAMPLES OF SUBLIME ENGLISH BAROQUE STYLE.
